I am Steven Reyme born and raised in Abrabroki. I am a politician and spiritual leader of Logos International. When I studied in the US I noticed that many of my fellow students already had a personal vision for the future. This inspired me very much to see that these young people had short, medium and long term vision for their lives. I promised myself then that it would be my life goal to stimulate young people through motivation and leadership sessions to have a personal vision of life at a very early age. I returned to Suriname in 2003 and from that moment on I started to stimulate my fellow human beings, especially the young people, to have a goal for their lives and I do that in the spiritual and social field. I believe that every generation should feel obliged to serve the next generation.
My Story
As a 7 year old I was aware of a big change in our country, the Surinamese Independence. We became the boss in our own country. The leaders of that time had big plans for Suriname but unfortunately it soon became clear that the leaders were not ready to bear the responsibility that came with the Surinamese Independence.
Five years later was the Surinamese Revolution and those leaders promised us great national changes. People were happy and supported them spontaneously. Besides some positive changes, the country also has to deal with many drastic events, such as a national war in which many lives of our fellow Surinamese were lost.
Democracy returned in 1987 and slowly things seemed to be going better for our country but to my surprise and disappointment the phenomenon of 'cronyism' was reintroduced. Up until now we as Surinamese have not had to deal with leaders and a government that have a national vision for Suriname and also implement it. It can and must be different. It is time for Suriname first!
We are committed to faith in this country, hope for the future and patriotism. We encourage everyone's involvement. Every Surinamese is an added value. I hope that you will stand with us for the construction and improvement of our beautiful country, Suriname.
